  • Dr Greg Muir
    Veterinarian

    B.V.Sc M.A.C.V.Sc (Hons)  

    Greg has wanted to be a veterinarian since his school days and has always had animals in the house growing up.

    Greg attended Sydney University and graduated with first class honors in 1990. He then worked in a mixed practice in Rockhampton before moving to England for two years to work in a small animal practice. After returning to Australia and working in Townsville for a short period, Greg then purchased the Alma Street Veterinary Surgery in 1998.

  • Lenore Stewart
    Practice Manager

    Lenore began her Vet Nursing career in Mackay before traveling Australia with her husband for a number of years, working on cattle stations. Together they eventually settled on a small property outside Rockhampton where Lenore continued on with her vet nursing.

    Lenore then attained her Certificate in vet nursing and went on to also complete her Certificate in Practice Management which led her to become the Practice Manager at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital, a position she has held for many years now. Lenore enjoys seeing and meeting all the clients and their pets who visit Alma Street Veterinary Hospital.

    In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, the dog, cat, cockatoo and several horses. 

     

  • Dr Anna Barlow
    Veterinarian

    B.V.Sc (Hons)

    Anna graduated with B.V.Sc (Hons) from Queensland University in 2006 and embarked on her veterinary career in Bundaberg. After a short stint in Bundaberg Anna then traveled overseas working in a small animal practice in England. Not being able to stand the cold weather and missing her beloved friend Frank, a tan Staffy cross, gave Anna the motive to return home.

    In early 2010 Anna came to join the team at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital and has settled in Rockhampton. Anna is a keen sportswoman who enjoys most sports and thoroughly enjoys cooking.

    Anna has a passionate interest in ultrasound diagnostics and is enthusiastic about expanding her knowledge at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital.

  • Dr Susan Connor
    Veterinarian

    B.V.Sc (Hons)  

    Susan grew up on a large cattle property which ignited her desire to become a veterinarian and in 1992 graduated from Queensland University with a B.V.Sc (Hons).

    Susan has stayed working within the Rockhampton region since graduating, firstly in a mixed practice for ten years however her love for small animals brought her to join the team here at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital in 2002.

    Susan and her husband are the proud parents of three beautiful children and now live on a cattle property west of Rockhampton. Included in their family are three cats, two dogs plus numerous horses and cattle.

    As a veterinarian Susan loves the satisfaction of helping people's beloved pets and developing a personal relationship with both owner and pet.

  • Dr Michelle Trevan
    Veterinarian

    B.V.Sc (Hons)

    (Michelle is currenlty on Maternity Leave)

    Michelle graduated with B.V.Sc (Hons) from Queensland University in 2008 and from there began her career working in a mixed practice in the western suburbs of Brisbane. She enjoys soft tissue surgery, this is when we use skin flaps to repair wounds and close tissue deficits from a large lump removal.

    In late 2010 Michelle made the move to Rockhampton with her husband Aiden and much loved two year old Golden Retriever, Charlie. Not long after joining the team here at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital, Michelle welcomed a new member to her family by rescuing a Bull Arab Cross Pup, now called Benji.

    In her spare time Michelle enjoys training for and competing in triathlons as well as embracing the outdoors lifestyle, often fishing, camping and four wheel driving on weekends.

  • Dr Nic Spooner
    Veterinarian

    B.V.Sc M.A.C.V.Sc (Hons)  

    (Nic is currently on Maternity Leave)

    Nic graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001 with first class honours. She worked for two years in a mixed practice in northern NSW before returning to Brisbane to undertake an internship in a small animal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine and critical care at Queensland Veterinary Specialists.

    She completed her examinations to become a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in the Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Chapter in 2005, and was Clinical Director of Pet Emergency until early 2007.

    Upon moving back to Emerald with her husband, where she had grown up on a cattle property, she worked as a small animal clinician until taking maternity leave. She and her husband relocated to Yeppoon with twin baby boys and an assortment of animals in 2009. Nic is a full-time mum and part-time vet at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital.  

  • Dr Christine Baker
    Veterinarian

    B.V.Sc

    Christine is our newest addition to the Veterinarian team at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital starting in January 2011. She graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at The University of Queensland in Brisbane in 2010.

    Christine then made the move from Brisbane to Rockhampton to start her veterinary career and eat some good steak. Christine has a particular interest in internal medicine and wildlife, and a weakness for the canine breed, Boxer.

    Outside of work she enjoys cooking, gardening and going to the beach, and is also a keen traveller. While Christine doesn't currently have any pets of her own, she is kept busy giving Qantas, Girl, Lucky & Puss Puss (the hospital residents) plenty of love and belly scratches. 

  • Dr Maya Robinson
    Veterinarian

    B.V.Sc

    Maya graduated from Massey University in 2005 and from there began her Veterinary career working in a mixed animal practice for a few months before moving to Sydney. Once in Sydney Maya took on an internship involving internal and emergency medicine.

    From there she continued to work as an emergency vet in Australia and began working here at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital in June 2010. Maya has also worked in the United Kingdom as well as her home country New Zealand. Maya has a passion for small animal medicine, especially regarding cats and diabetes.

    At home Maya's family consists of two mischievous cats, Garry and Butters, as well as two dogs, Gertie and Morrie, which were all rescued from the clinic here at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital. In her spare time Maya enjoys cooking, spending time with her husband and is developing a passion for gardening.
